Lazy

I've had the laziest four-day weekend ever, and I only feel a tiny bit guilty that I didn't get anything practical done.  Just ate a ton, slept, and knit!  I've become obsessed with quick little knitting projects too:

The cute little mittens are from this pattern (pdf) and the green guy is from Handknit Holidays.  It wasn't supposed to look like an acorn, I think I just lost track of my increases.  And eww, that pot is looking a little gross.

This was also a one-day project:

Pattern: Candy Cane Hat from Handknit Holidays in the smallest size (baby)
Yarn: Plymouth Encore leftovers
My colorwork is a little uneven, but I think it will be a nice gift for a friend who just had a baby.  Sorry about the dark pictures, by the way.  We haven't had much sun this weekend.

I am *so close* to finishing Wisp, so I may have another FO before too long.  Cross your fingers!

Grand Plans

Actually, my holiday knitting plans aren't so grand this year.  I've decided not to make anything large and complicated for anyone and instead make lots of small Christmas ornaments as gifts.  I've found a lot of cute patterns - Liz just posted these little stockings, and there's also these nifty double-knit stockings, Julia's pretty leaf ornaments, and the Knitted Ornaments from Handknit Holidays.  In fact, I've already finished one of the Handknit Holidays ornaments:

I think it will be a great use for leftover yarn and scraps.
Now for the big projects (for me, of course):

Progress on Flair--I've actually done a bit more than this since the picture was taken.  Same with Wisp:

I think they'd both be pretty quick knits if I had a bit more time to work on them!

Dress-up

I found a way to make the Tuxedo Shirt fall-appropriate:

Ta-da!  (Sorry about my expression and the blurry picture--self-timer issues.)  I love this look and am tempted to cast on for another vest right now (like this one)!

And I know I'm a little late, but I thought I'd post a picture of our Halloween costumes.

I thought they were pretty obvious, but apparently not everyone knows who Bjork or the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show are.  My costume was fairly simple--I bought a $5 tube dress from Target, sewed on a swan head and glued on some feathers.  You can't see it in the picture, but I also knit an eyelash-yarn edging and sewed it to the bottom of the dress.

Coming soon...knitting progress pictures!
