Finally!

And just in time for cooler weather--but knowing Houston I'll still get some wear out of this before winter really comes.

Pattern: Sleeveless Tuxedo Shirt from Interweave Knits Summer 2007
Yarn: 5 balls for Camila from http://www.elann.com/ in Opal Grey (for the smallest size)
Time to Complete: September 15, 2007 - October 29, 2007
Notes: Although I really didn't enjoy making this one, I am happy with the end result!  I made a few small modifications but mostly stuck to the pattern.  My gauge was off, so I knit the smallest size in order to get the second-smallest measurements.  I omitted the crochet "ruffle" that it supposed to go around the front and the straps and instead of a crochet edging on the bottom I knit a few rows of garter stitch (it still curls though).  I ended up sewing the front together so that the buttons are just decorative because the front was pulling apart in an unflattering way.

Now that it is finally cool around here, I've been getting ready for some fall knits.  I'm planning on casting on for Flair (with modifications so that it looks more like Wispy) any minute now.  I got some Rowan Summer Tweed for *cheap* on eBay and am ready to go!

Hello, hello, hello....

So, I seem to have been away from the knitblogging world for a bit now.  Unintentionally, of course, but I do apologize if I haven't commented on your blogs lately.

I think part of the issue is that I've just been rather unexcited about my own projects.  The sleeveless tuxedo shirt sure is cute, but man, is it boring to knit.  And reverse stockinette stitch in a linen blend yarn makes for some uneven looking stitches.  Hopefully blocking will fix that.

I do have an FO to share--Julie had the smart idea a while ago to sell handspun to help finance a wheel purchase.  I bought some lovely Bluefaced Leicester but only had 155 yards and wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  A few weeks ago I decided to cast on 300 stitches and came up with this:

Pattern: Cast on 300 stitches on size 9 needles, knit in garter stitch for a while and cast off
Yarn: 155 yards of Bluefaced Leicester handspun by Julie
Time to Complete: A few weeks of on-again, off-again knitting
Notes: Yay, a quick, cute project!  I love how the yarn has a subtle striping thing going on too.

I've also cast on for Wisp to combat my boredom with the tuxedo shirt--hopefully more pictures soon!
