A Weekend to Remember
I had hoped to tell you about a nice relaxing weekend at the beach in celebration of our 5th wedding anniversary, but unfortunately that's not the way it worked out. We drove down to Galveston Saturday for a mini-vacation and enjoyed an hour or so on the beach and a nice dinner before discovering that all of our cash had been stolen. We had left our wallets in our hotel room thinking that they would be safer there than on the beach, but apparently that wasn't the case. And when we finally got in touch with the hotel management today, they said their policy is that they're not responsible for anything stolen out of a hotel room. Which I suppose I understand, but that sort of gives their employees the freedom to take anything they want, doesn't it? Although the rest of the weekend was ok, it's hard not to let something like that ruin a trip.
On a happier note, Sahara is nearly done!

GAH, that sucks! I'm so sorry. Some people are such a-holes. Well, congrats on the anniversary, though. At least it'll be a trip you two will always remember....

That's so crummy. It's actually one of my little fears whenever I travel. And you're right, it makes you think that the hotel staff has no rules about stealing any of the guests' things.
Happy Anniversary! I hope you were able to enjoy the beach anyway. Thanks for the tip on Pegasus; I'm always wondering what those elann yarns will be like. Maybe it will be less stiff after a bath?

That's awful! But thankfully it was just your cash, right? Not credit cards or ID. Now I'll be sure to always find hotels that have safes in the room!
